About the Author

Jonathan (Jon) Muir is a native of East Idaho who grew up in the Shadow of the Tetons. His enjoyment of hiking as a young lad evolved into an amateur love of trail running and then into a backcountry skiing. Jon has a passion for finding happiness and challenges in the mountains that have nothing to do with his ironic last name.

Jonathan chose to build this blog to help other amateur and novice adventurers find the same beta that he was looking for but often couldn’t find. When he isn’t looking at maps or huffing up a mountain, you can find him helping people with their marriages and personal problems in his work as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
